![]() I read Daniel all the way through for the first time maybe 15 years ago and there is much more to it than the writing on the wall and the lion's den. I find it interesting that the author draws from Daniel and other pre-Christian literature for the prophecies. ![]() Modern theology teaches that Revelation is actually a coded document for the Christians of the author's time and much of the descriptions refer to Rome. This was his first sermon after the Waco/Koresh debacle. One could think he is stretching things a bit here and there but it can't even compare with what the Biblical literalists have done.Ī former pastor at my church (a very well educated man with seminary and PhD from SMU) once said that he wished Revelation had not been included in the final text selection for what became the Bible because it had caused so much trouble and strife over the years.
